InFocus provides specialist adult residential care with nursing support for young adults with vision impairment and complex needs.
We offer individual care packages and enrichment programmes that:

Our residential care home provides a safe and secure environment where young adults with vision impairment and complex needs can live in comfort. Our team of dedicated staff assist with personal care, social activities, and support with daily living tasks. We also provide an ongoing rehabilitation programme that helps to develop mobility, communication and independent living skills.
Life at InFocus
The emphasis at InFocus Residential Care is on offering a full and active life. We make full use of the facilities available on our large site at the edge of Exeter, as well as accessing a huge range of activities and services in the local community using our fleet of adapted vehicles.
Activities are planned around the wishes of each individual and the staff team are incredibly responsive and flexible to ensure that each person is living the life they choose.
Our unique location on the outskirts of Exeter is perfect for developing independence, with access to a range of leisure and vocational activities on our doorstep, including shopping, cinema trips, day trips and more.
Who provides care and support?
We employ a team of care staff that support and enable the young adults 24/7 throughout the year.
All support workers have (or are working towards) a Level 3 qualification in health and social care. They receive comprehensive in-house training, including vision impairment awareness and Non-Abusive Psychological and Physical Intervention (NAPPI) training. Medication is administered by staff who have completed further training, and with the oversight of our team of nurses.
Mobility and therapy support (including Speech and Language Therapy) can also be delivered by professionals directly employed by InFocus.
About the accommodation
All accommodation offers an adapted, visual impairment friendly environment. This includes providing ceiling hoists, accessible bathrooms and kitchens with height-adjustable worktops and appliances.
We want everyone living in our homes to have the chance to live as independently as possible.
In Exeter we offer accommodation in three small lodges as part of St David’s House. The Care Quality Commission inspected St David’s House in 2019 and graded it “Outstanding”.

Our team of experienced staff are committed to helping each individual reach their potential, and provide support with daily living tasks such as personal care , cooking and cleaning. We also provide support with accessing leisure activities, vocational opportunities, and community resources.
We understand that each person’s circumstances are unique; we use a range of methods to ensure that their individual needs are met. Our approach is tailored to the individual and is focused on providing the best possible care whilst encouraging independence and self-confidence.
