Hours: 14.5 hours per week (worked over a 2-week rolling rota)
Duration: 52 weeks per year

About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, driven, and passionate Retail Assistant to join our expanding team at our charity shop in Exmouth.
You will provide supervisory cover in the shop, including opening and closing the premises, delivering excellent customer service, assisting with customer enquiries, purchases, and product information, processing transactions accurately using the till system, and maintaining a clean and organised shop floor. You will also support the arrangement of displays and promotions, stock shelves, and supervise volunteers. There may also be periods of lone working.
About you
We are looking for a flexible and adaptable individual who will be responsible for helping to run our shop and positively promoting InFocus Charity and its objectives within the local community.
Our volunteers play an important role in supporting the day-to-day running of the shop, so you will need to be comfortable supervising and supporting others.
There may be occasions when you are working on your own in the shop. For this reason, you will need to be confident in lone working, leading the shop during your shift, and managing multiple priorities effectively. You may also occasionally need to deal with dissatisfied customers or incidents of theft, so you should feel comfortable handling challenging situations with confidence, professionalism, and resilience.
It is important that you have experience in a customer-facing role, a friendly yet professional and outgoing personality, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Working pattern
You will work two days per week on a two-week rolling rota, with 15 hours in Week 1 and 14 hours in Week 2. This includes alternate weekends during Week 2. Specific working days will be confirmed.
