A 10 acre paradise in the East Devon countryside is opening to the public this weekend, offering a rare chance to find out about its role in supporting people from across the UK who have vision impairment.
InFocus Charity’s outdoor learning centre at West Hill near Ottery St Mary is opening its gates on Saturday 18th June 2022. The open garden and plant sale will run from 12 noon until around 5pm.
Volunteers from the charity will be on hand to guide you around the kitchen garden, polytunnels, sensory gardens and forest school. Visitors will even be able to pick up a few plants and herbs for their own garden.
It’s one of two sites operated by national charity InFocus to support young people who have a vision impairment and other complex needs and disabilities.

From Exeter: Leave the A30 at the Daisymount junction. At the roundabout take the third exit and pass underneath the A30, then at the next roundabout take the 3rd exit again onto the Exmouth road. Very soon afterwards you’ll see an entrance on the left-hand side with InFocus clearly signposted. Follow the drive and bear left into our carpark.
From Honiton: Leave the A30 at the Daisymount junction. At the roundabout take the second exit onto the Exmouth road. Very soon afterwards you’ll see an entrance on the left-hand side with InFocus clearly signposted. Follow the drive and bear left into our carpark.
From Exmouth/Sidmouth/Woodbury via the A3052: Leave the A3052 at Halfway House, following the signs for Ottery St Mary B3180. Continue along that road for approximately 5 minutes until you come to the entrance (on the right-hand side) with InFocus clearly signposted.
