On May 23, 2024, the InFocus Street Party brought together our wonderful community of young people, trustees, staff, volunteers, neighbours, partners, and former students in a joyful celebration of unity. This year’s party embraced an Abba theme, marking the 50th anniversary of the iconic band’s Eurovision Song Contest victory in 1974.

The annual InFocus Street Party has become a cherished tradition, a time when everyone associated with the charity can come together to celebrate with each other. This year’s event was no exception, transforming the site into a lively scene filled with music, laughter, and colourful costumes.

The festivities kicked off with a playlist of Abba’s greatest hits, instantly setting the tone for the day. The air was filled with familiar tunes such as “Dancing Queen,” “Mamma Mia,” and “Waterloo,” as attendees of all ages danced and sang along.

A highlight of the party was the Abba-themed fancy dress competition, which saw participants of all ages donning their best sequined outfits and platform boots. From sparkling jumpsuits to bell-bottom trousers, the creativity and enthusiasm on display were a testament to Abba’s impact on all generations.

Adults and young people alike enjoyed the face painting station, where talented artists transformed faces into colourful works of art, adding to the festive atmosphere. Meanwhile, a prize drawer kept the excitement high, with lucky winners taking home a range of goodies.

The grand finale of the event was a heartwarming performance by the students from InFocus College. Guided by the talented musicians from ‘Live Music Now’ on the ‘Count Me in!’ project, the students demonstrated their impressive music-making skills for the crowd to thoroughly enjoy.

The InFocus Street Party 2024 not only celebrated Abba’s musical legacy but also highlighted the strong sense of community and collaboration that defines InFocus. We can’t wait for next year’s celebration!
