One month into his yearlong 5k-a-day challenge, InFocus supporter Pete Andrews is finding his stride. Having not run for years, Pete has thrown himself into the deep end by committing to running 5 kilometres a day – come rain or shine – to help raise money for InFocus and bibic – two charities close to his heart.
Earlier this year, Pete’s three-year-old son, was diagnosed with non-verbal autism and it’s through his family’s journey that he has realised the importance of charities such as InFocus and bibic in supporting families and young people with additional needs.
Pete commented: “Having grown up in Exeter I have known of InFocus for many years, but it is only since working with them closely in recent times that I have developed a true understanding of the amazing work they do and the inspirational stories they play a part in every day. As the father of a disabled child, I have developed a greater appreciation of the importance of the work done by charities such as InFocus and the tangible difference they make to peoples’ lives. I couldn’t be prouder to be raising money for such an important organisation and I have seen first-hand how much good these vital funds can do. Thank you to the InFocus team for their support of my endeavour so far, I look forward to them joining me for a 5K very soon!”
We are incredibly grateful to Pete for his support and we look forward to cheering him on along the way.
