Later this summer, 27 runners will take on the inflatable 5k in Exeter to raise funds for InFocus Charity. The team is formed of staff members and their families as well as employees of our charity partner Coastal Recycling.

The runners will climb, run and bounce their way through the inflatable course to raise money for a cause that is very close to their hearts.

Katherine Ellis, one of our reception team members said, “It is fantastic to be part of Team InFocus. We are all incredibly proud to work here and be part of team that makes a real difference to the lives of young people and I am sure that will help us work together and take on any obstacles in our way!”

Staff see the transformative impact of specialist education and care every day, and fundraised income helps raise much needed money for specialist equipment, activities and essential building repairs, that all help make the wow moments happen.

Catherine Scott Baker, Principal at InFocus College, said: “We always ask the students at InFocus to take on challenges and we encourage them to do things that might be out of their comfort zone. Now it is our turn to do it, and they will be our inspiration as we take on the challenge.”

Three employees of Coastal Recycling will also be taking on the obstacle course and raising money for the charity. Over the past year, Coastal has generously donated funds for us to buy two specialist benches for St Davids House. 

All funds raised will go directly to InFocus Charity, helping to create more life-enhancing opportunities for young people with vision impairment and complex needs.
