My name is Danny and I’m a student at InFocus College.
On the 16th of May I went to my first ever Pride event! My Dad drove me into Exeter. First, I got two Pride flags – a small rainbow one and a trans flag which I wore like a cape which a lot of the people there were doing.
I waited excitedly on Sidwell Street for the Pride parade which would be walking through and on to Northernhay Gardens. A lot of different organisations where walking through celebrating Pride as well as some drag queens and Morris dancers. Just being at the event made me so happy I nearly started crying, just being with people like me made me feel amazing!
I didn’t stop smiling for the whole time I was there. I tagged onto the end of the parade with other people who were attending Pride and we walked up to Northernhay Gardens where there were lots of stalls. Me and my Dad got a drink and then travelled home.
I truly had a wonderful experience and would do it again!
