STUDENTS from Exeter’s InFocus College have taken part in a live performance at the end a mini-residency by a trio of professional musicians from music charity Live Music Now.

Meera Maharaja, Dominic Degavino and Tara Baggett spent time at InFocus this week, working with the students to produce and compose their own music, all on the theme of “Express yourself”. Two pieces were performed as part of a celebratory assembly today in front of the whole College, including a new song with words written by the young people at InFocus.

All the young people supported by InFocus College have vision impairment and other challenges including a range of complex needs and disabilities. Students from across the UK attend the College at its main campus on Topsham Road at the edge of the city of Exeter. Activities like music-making are adapted to the needs of each individual so everyone can join in.
